Welcome to xuxu, a one-person art workshop located in Oslo, Norway. After two decades of working in contemporary fashion and painting, I am focusing on ceramics, a pursuit that began in late 2024 upon returning to my hometown. Here, at xuxu.work, I invite you to explore this exciting new chapter of my life.

My artistic inspiration is shaped by the diverse cultures of cities like Taipei, Berlin and London (all cities which I have resided in multiple times) — which have profoundly influenced my creative journey. 

With time I’ve come to appreciate the silence and quiet in-between: This shift in focus reflects my evolving artistic vision, moving from large compositions (paintings) to creations no larger than a postcard. The same philosophy guides my ceramics. In a world obsessed with bigger, faster; more and more and more — I create humble, quiet pieces for the patient collector. Objects that occupy the in-between spaces — the overlooked details that nudge a space from 9/10 to 10/10. You’ll find my curiosities sitting idly on a shelf, perched on coffee tables, or resting on hallway cupboards: seemingly normal yet delightfully goofy, impossible to explain but begging to be held – to be experienced.

Every curiosity and object is handmade by myself in my Oslo workshop and every order handled and processed by me. Making the entire journey of the curiosities and ceramics, from creation until the moment they are shipped off to their new collector’s home, a truly personal story. 

The name xuxu? A longtime nickname. In some languages, it means “cutie”—make of that what you will.
